PORTSMOUTH 4-3 GILLINGHAM

Gills narrowly beaten by Pompey....

Last Saturday the Gills made the long journey down to Hampshire where they were finally beaten by the odd-goal in seven.

Jack Maloney put the home side two ahead, the second coming from a penalty, before Aiden Blanchard pulled one back for Darren Hare’s side only for James Hartson to restore Pompey’s two-goal advantage.

Dan O’Neill then saved another Maloney spot-kick which gave the Gills a boost and they pulled level through an Aaron Millbank back-heel and Kane Haysman’s third goal of the season.

Unfortunately it was Portsmouth that took the points thanks to a late effort from Bradley Tarbuck.
