BIRTHS...
1905- George Crawford
The centre half made his debut at the age of 21 away to Southend in 1927, and was at the club for 18 months before transferring to Bournemouth.
1906- Archie Young
Young made his debut for the club at the age of 30 away at Bristol City, but just twelve months later he was playing for Rochdale having made a transfer.
1964- Ray Daniel
The midfielder made just five appearances for the Gills while on a short-term loan deal from Luton, but failed to make an impression in the limited time he had. He then went on to play for Cardiff City and Portsmouth.
1972- Mark Dempsey
Dempsey, born in Dublin and who appeared for the Republic of Ireland U21 side five times, was a trainee at the club before turning professional in 1990, and he went on to make 48 appearances for the team, scoring twice.
After spells at Leyton Orient, Shrewsbury Town and Barry Town, where he played Champions League soccer, Mark returned to his native Ireland to play for Bohemians, Shelbourne and Drogheda United while later was assistant-manager at both Shamrock Rovers and Limerick.

DEATHS...
1991 - Hughie Russell
Hughie was at the club between 1946 and 1952, scoring 118 times in 202 appearances overall, the total including a treble hat-trick in a 12-1 home victory over Gloucester City in November 1946.
A neck injury suffered against Ipswich in 1952 brought his playing days to an end, although he did return to the club as a first-team trainer.
