CHELTENHAM PROGRAMME PREVIEW

We bring you our guide to what's coming up in tonights matchday magazine

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of New Brompton FC changing their name to Gillingham Football Club we’ve given this season’s programme a historical theme.

For each home game our designer Paul Turvey has produced a unique cover, putting his spin on a classic issue from the Gills first hundred seasons.

For the visit of Cheltenham Town, we’ve based our cover on the one used when the two sides met at Priestfield in an FA Cup First Round replay in November 1999. Inside tonight’s issue you can turn to the centre pages for an eight page exclusive souvenir mini programme from that season.

The centenary celebrations continue inside as Chris Lynham recalls the day the Gills caused a major upset at Ewood Park and Richard Day looks back on the Gills all conquering 1946/47 campaign.

Andrew Ford’s feature on the Gills vs the Premiership focuses on Buster Collins testimonial with Manchester United, while Nigel Clark explores the history of the Robins home, Whaddon Road

Back to the present and we bring you the exclusive thoughts of Chairman Paul Scally and Gills Manager Martin Allen on the thrashing of Scunthorpe and our Round Two tie with Preston

Phill Catterick interviews midfield maestro Charlie Allen while free-scoring full-back Matt Fish answers our quick fire questions in On The Spot.

All this and much, much more, all for just £3.00. The programme is on sale now, so pick up your copy at the GFC Megastore today, or from sellers all around the ground.
