BIRTHS...


1931 - Jim Fletcher

Born in Wouldham, Jim had played for a number of Kent sides before joining the Gills in the summer of 1957.

He made his Gills debut against Brighton & HA on the opening day of the season.

After 13 goals in 28 appearances he joined Southend United in July 1958 before returning to the county playing for four more sides prior to retiring in June 1964.

DEATHS...

1973 - Charles Gellatly

The former Hlifax Town left-back joined the Gills from Leicester City in June 1931, having made his debut at Luton Town in September, he went onto make 61 appearances for the club.

Charles died in Surrey on 10th November 1973.
