BIRTHS...
1965 - Ian Macowat
The England Schoolboy and Youth international came through the ranks at Everton but failed to make the first-team at Goodison Park.
Ian, a left-back, moved to Priestfield in January 1985 but had to wait four months for his debut that came against Reading at Elm Park.
After leaving Gillingham in the summer of 1986 having played eight times, he spent two seasons with Crewe Alexandra where he made 72 league appearances.
1967 - Alan Reeves
The centre-half came on loan from Norwich City in February 1989 and made his debut against Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
He returned to Carrow Road at the end of the season after 18 appearances.
Spells later followed at Chester City, Rochdale, Wimbledon and Swindon Town where he was also player-coach and assistant-manager.
