BIRTHS...

1979 – Adam Barrett

Adam arrived at Priestfield on the eve of the new season from League One AFC Bournemouth and the experienced defender made his debut in the 1-0 victory at Wycombe Wanderers.

33-years-old today, the Gills skipper has previously been at Leyton Orient, Plymouth Argyle, Mansfield Town, Bristol Rovers, Southend United, Crystal Palace and the Cherries.


1989- Joe Martin

Joe, who has so far scored four goals in 72 appearances for the Gills celebrates his 23rd birthday today.

As a youngster, the son of West Ham legend Alvin, played for both the Hammers and Tottenham Hotspur before moving north to Blackpool.

He joined the Gills in December 2010 following a successful trial and quickly made his debut as a second-half substitute in the 4-2 away win at Macclesfield.
