BIRTHS...
1933 - Pat Terry
Pat was a strong old fashioned centre-forward who netted a career total of 229 league goals.
He played for Eastbourne United, Charlton Athletic, Newport County and Swansea Town before joining Gillingham in October 1958 for £4,000.
Just days later he scored the only goal of the game on his debut in a 1-0 away win at Workington .
Pat scored 22 goals in all competititons in each of the three seasons he spent with the Gills, which included three hat-tricks, the first was on the opening day of the 1959-60 season when the Gills beat Gateshead 5-4.
His other two trebles came just over a month apart, in September 1960 he netted three in a 5-2 home triumph over Aldershot then the following month he scored all three in a 3-2 win at Doncaster Rovers.
Spells followed at Northampton Town, Millwall, Reading, Swindon Town and Brentford which took him past the 500 appearance mark in Football League games before playing non-league football with Hillingdon Borough, Wimbledon, Folkestone Town and then, when 45-years-old, Greenwich Borough.
1969 - Rod Wallace
Rod's career took him from the youth ranks and first-team at Southampton, to Leeds United where they won the old First Division title during seven years there, then Champions League soccer at Glasgow Rangers before Premiership football at Bolton Wanderers. He also won caps for England at both Under-21 and B level.
In June 2002 he signed for the Gills and made his debut as a half-time substitute for Guy Ipoua against Leicester City in front of 30,067 at the Walkers Stadium. Unfortunately his spell at Priestfield was beset by injuries and in total he scored a dozen goals in 40 games.
