1931 - Alf Bentley
The former Snowdown Colliery Welfare, Coventry City and Margate goalkeeper joined the Gills in August 1958.
He had to wait eight months before making his debut against Watford at home which was one of just 13 appearances in his four seasons at the club.
Alf also played for Tunbridge Wells and Hastings United before holding managerial roles at Canterbury City, Dover, Folkestone, Ramsgate and back at Snowdown.
After leaving the game he was landlord of the Red Lion public house in Dover, for a number of years.
