ROMAIN VINCELOT PROFILE

Some information on the Gills new signing

The versatile Poitiers-born Frenchman, who celebrates his 27th birthday on Monday, began his career with Ligue 2 Chamois Niortais and then moved to FC Gueugnon in 2008.

Following his release in the summer of 2009 he spent six months without a club but eventually joined Dagenham & Redbridge in January 2010, making his Football League debut against Shrewsbury Town.

The former full-back was top scorer for John Still’s Daggers from midfield in 2010-11 and had scored 13 goals in 61 appearances when he signed a two-year deal with Brighton & Hove Albion. The then newly promoted Championship side paid £100,000 for his services in the summer of 2011.

His debut for the Seagulls came against the Gills in the Carling Cup First Round tie at the Amex Stadium in August and he has made 20 appearances for the Sussex club.

He has not featured in Gus Poyet's side this season but is expected to be included in the travelling party for tomorrow's trip to AFC Wimbledon having signed a two-month loan deal with the Gills on Friday morning.
