BIRTHS...
1892 - Owen Marshall
The right-back arrived at Priestfield from Chelsea in May 1921 and made his debut against Southampton on the first day of the following campaign. He went on to make a total of 42 appearances before joining Maidstone United in the summer of 1923.
1896 - Stuart McMillan
Another arrival from Chelsea, this time in March 1921, he made his debut at home to Watford. The former Derby County outside-right made 34 appearances but left for Wolves in June 1922.
Over the next few years he played for the likes of Bradford City, Nottingham Forest and Clapton Orient before returning to Derby as manager in January 1946. Just four months into the job the Rams lifted the FA Cup at Wembley having beaten Charlton Athletic 4-1 after extra-time and he remained in charge at the Baseball Ground for eight years.
1976 - Danny Cullip
The experienced defender joined on non-contract basis in February 2008 following his departure from QPR. He made his debut in the home game with Huddersfield Town and went on to make 11 appearances in total.
Danny was playing for Lewes when a long-term hamstring injury enforced his retirement and he now coaches back at Brighton & HA
1981 – Stuart Nelson
The new Gills keeper celebrates his 31st birthday today. He was signed in August 2012 by manager Martin Allen following his release from Notts County at the end of last season.
The Stroud born goalkeeper has previously played for FC Battledown, Cirencester College Football Academy, Doncaster Rovers, Hucknall Town, Brentford, Leyton Orient, Norwich City and Aberdeen.
