A move to Chatham followed in May 1955 before embarking on a successful career in coaching and management including Norway, Kuwait, Greece and Iceland.
He was an ever-present for two of his five seasons with the club making a total of 204 appearances.
The full-back joined the Gills in the summer of 1950 from Fulham and made his debut on the opening day of the season as the club returned to the Football League.

After being released by the Hammers Frank moved to Championship outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Frank scored on his debut in a 6-1 win at Hereford and went on to net five goals in 14 games during his three-month loan from West Ham United during the early months of the 2011-12.

Having previously been loaned to Bishops Stortford, Maidstone United and Dover Athletic, Dean signed a permanent deal with the latter following his release in the summer of 2012.
Dean made his first-team debut as a second-half substitute against AFC Bournemouth at home in an FA Cup replay.
The Maidstone-born midfielder joined the Gills Centre of Excellence aged eight and progressed through the ranks to sign his first professional contract in May 2010.
