BIRTHS...
1968 - Darren Carr
The exrerienced defender cost £7,500 from Chesterfield in August 1993 and he made his debut in the opening game against Walsall.
He made 36 appearances in his one season at Priestfield which included a substitute appearance in the play-off final defeat against Manchester City.
Later in his career he returned to Kent with a spell at Dover Athletic.
1969 - Ian Docker
Ian played for Medway, Kent and England at Schoolboy level before joining the Gills as a trainee in August 1986.
He signed professional terms in October 1987 and made his debut as a substitute in the home game with Preston six months later and went on to score three goals in 101 appearances.
Spells at various non-league clubs followed and the UEFA B licensed coach now works as a PASE co-ordinator at Ebbsfleet United.
1973 - Paul Shaw
Paul cost the Gills £450,000 when he moved from Millwall in July 2000.
He made his debut on the opening day of the season against Stockport County but his first goal didn't come until an FA Cup tie at Bournemouth in January 2001.
After 151 appearances and 29 goals he moved on to Sheffield United in 2004.
Spells at other clubs followed including Ferencvaros in Hungary and he is currently Head Coach at FC New York.
