Our guide to the Gills new loan signing Robbie Findley
Signed on a one month loan from Championship side Nottingham Forest this afternoon, 27 year-old Robbie Findley was born in Phoenix Arizona and has been capped eleven times by the United States.
The pacy centre-forward began his career at Oregon State University and also represented Boulder Rapids Reserve, scoring 15 goals in 17 outings for the USL Premier Development League side.
In 2007 he was snapped up by Major League Soccer highflyers Los Angeles Galaxy ahead of a three season stay with Real Salt Lake.
It was during his time at Real that Robbie was first capped by the USA, whom he also represented in the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa, playing three times, including a start in the 1-1 draw with England in Rustenburg.
He transferred to Nottingham Forest in January 2011 and has made 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals. Robbie linked up with his Gills team mates today and is eligible to play in tomorrow’s League Two match at Port Vale.
