PLEASE KEEP OFF THE PITCH

A message to supporters

The 2012/13 campaign has been one of the most successful seasons in our club’s long history and the Chairman, Martin Allen, his coaching staff, the players and everyone at the club would like to say a huge thank you to all our supporters for the sensational backing that you have given the club throughout the season, home and away, come rain or shine.

Whatever the outcome of Saturday’s match, the players will be coming out after the final whistle to take a lap of honour and to thank our supporters personally for the major role that they have played in our club’s success.

Obviously we have a lot to celebrate this season but please be aware that we cannot start the celebrations unless the pitch is clear. Our supporters have been an absolute credit to Gillingham Football Club this season and your consideration for both teams and the match officials at the final whistle against Torquay United was very much appreciated.

As you are no doubt aware there have been a couple of high profile pitch incursions at MEMS Priestfield Stadium this season.  The most serious of which has now resulted in a five year banning order for the individual concerned and any further incidents could have major repercussions for the club including, fines, crowd restrictions and even points deductions.

So please assist Martin and the players, the club’s staff and stewards by respecting the Ground Regulations, keeping your celebrations to the stands and allowing the players to come to you at the final whistle. Let’s make sure Saturday afternoon is a really special occasion and enjoy it all together.
