Newcastle midfielder joins on loan...
Gillingham have added to their midfield options with the signing of Michael Richardson from Premiership side Newcastle United on loan.
The 20-year-old has yet to feature for the Magpies but did spend some time on loan at Leyton Orient last season where he played four times and scored once, that coming away against Southend in the Capital One Cup in August 2011.
He began his career in non-league with Walker Central before catching the eye of the Newcastle Management while also working as an electrician for the City Council, and signed for his home town club in July 2010.
He trained with the Gills for the first time on Thursday afternoon and goes straight in to the squad for Saturday’s home game against Dagenham & Redbridge.
