Martin Allen wins January award...
Congratulations to Martin Allen who has won the npower League Two `Manager of the Month` award for January after guiding his side to an impressive 10 points from a possible 15 in the first month of the New Year.Gillingham won back to back away fixtures, collecting two clean sheets in the process, against Southend and Bristol Rovers before suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat to Port Vale at MEMS Priestfield.
However the side bounced back with a hard fought draw against York before beating Northampton 2-0 with a convincing performance to round out the month in style.
It is the second time Martin has won the award this season and the fourth time in total he has been nominated, and will be hoping his side can return to the top of the league this weekend when the Gills take on Dagenham & Redbridge at Priestfield.
