BIRTHS...
1887 - Jim McAlpine
The Scot was signed from Millwall in the summer of 1921 and he made his debut on the opening day of the season at Southampton.
He went on to make 51 appearances before retiring from the game in May 1923.
1969 - Tony Dobson
The experienced defender joined Gillingham on loan from West Bromwich Albion in September 1998 and made his debut at Chesterfield.
Following his second appearance against Northampton Town at home he moved to Sixfields on a permanent deal.
He later played for Forest Green Rovers before managing Rugby United and Solihull Borough.
