News on former players...

Former Gillingham loanee Frank Nouble has recently switched Championship clubs when joining Ipswich Town from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Having made just one start and four substitute appearances since a summer move to Molineux, he has now moved to Portman Road for an undisclosed fee, signing an 18-month deal.

The 21-year-old former West Ham United youngster scored five goals in a 13 game loan spell with the Gills in 2011-12, scoring on his debut in a 6-1 victory at Hereford United.

Another ex-Gill who has been on the move is striker Stefan Payne who has signed a short term deal at Blue Square Premier Macclesfield Town.

The 21-year-old, who scored twice in 37 games for the Gills, just three of which were starts, recently left Blue Square South Sutton United and he made his debut for the Silkmen in last night’s 2-0 defeat at Dartford.

A third forward who has recently changed clubs is Leroy Griffiths who has re-joined Sutton United following a spell back under the management of Mark Stimson at Thurrock.

The 36-year-old had scored twice in 25 appearances for the Gills back in the 2007-08 campaign.

John Nutter has joined Woking on a deal until the end of the season having previously been on loan with the Cardinals from Blue Square Premier rivals Lincoln City.

The left-back netted three goals in 157 appearances for the Gills between November 2007 and July 2011.

Scott Lindsey, now 40, is back in football after being named assistant manager to caretaker boss Dale Belford at Blue Square Premier Tamworth.

The son of former Gillingham right-back Keith, made 12 appearances for the Gills back in 1994-95 and later coached at the club’s Centre of Excellence and helped set up some Development Centres around Kent.

He also played for a number of non-league clubs around Kent as well as having a spell as first-team coach at Lincoln City during Chris Sutton’s time as manager at Sincil Bank.
