Gillingham FC and Barnsole Primary team up for Dad & Kids events
Gillingham Football Club and Barnsole Primary School recently joined forces to run a series of Dad & Kids Day activities.
The event had originally been planned as a one off event but due to overwhelming demand the programme was extended to three events.
Each offered a number of challenges for the participants with a wide variety of games and activities organised to test the trust, communication and patience between the dads and children involved.
Activities included children leading blindfolded dads to safety through a mine field of footballs and a game of obstacle ridden football golf.
One enthusiastic Dad commented, “I think we’ll definitely be recreating our own football golf course in the backyard this summer."
Community Coach Liam Donovan said, “It was great to see the kids bonding with their dads while in school and I think a great day was had by all.”
The day ended with a dad and kids penalty shoot-out against the Gills coach, making a fine finish to a brilliant day.
Gillingham FC would like to thank all of the Dads that took time out of their busy schedules to attend and also Barnsole Primary School for hosting and allowing us to be part of the Dad & Kids Day endeavour.
