GILLS COMPLETE 2013 LONDON MARATHON

There’s still time to make a donation to Gills' Marathon competing duo

Saturday 20 April was a historic day for Gillingham Football Club with the team securing the League Two Champions trophy courtesy of a home draw against AFC Wimbledon.

The trophy was of course lifted in front of a packed MEMS Priestfield Stadium with players, staff and supporters celebrating long into the night.

However it was a different story for two members of staff at the Gills who had to settle for a large bowl of pasta and an early night in preparation for the 2013 London Marathon.

Director of Football Andy Hessenthaler and Head of Football in the Community Adam Lawrence both ran the gruelling 26.2 miles to show support and raise money for Whizz Kids and Help the Hospices respectively.

Both Hess and Adam completed the race in good times and were delighted to be able to help their chosen charities.  They would also like to thank all of those fans that donated in the build-up to the race.

If you would like to show your support for the two charities, please visit their just giving pages below:
