After the game Peter said: “The performance wasn’t what we were looking for, we were looking for better than that but the FA Cup always has shocks and I’m sure a lot of those shocks are because teams get nervous because they play against teams who are in lower divisions.

“They know there is everything to lose and I think that’s exactly what happened today.

“Fair play to Brackley – I thought they played with lots of confidence, it’s obvious they are having a good season and they have been together for a bit of time and they started really well.

“The first minute of the game showed what they are capable of and maybe that might have made us a bit more nervous than we certainly should have been.

“It wasn’t our day, things weren’t looking good, we were looking nervous and they were looking confident but we got a 1-1 draw out of it so that’s very good news for us.

“If there is a player on the pitch I say to the players you always have to respect them and as a Manager you have to do that with the opposition and we did that.

“I told them afterwards that I am not happy with a lot of their performances but I’m happy with their desire to keep going.”

He added: “He is capable, he made some terrific runs, he’s got great energy and good pace. They tell me he needs to be a bit better with his finishing but I’m very happy he got that goal today.

“I was very frustrated that we hadn’t scored earlier – I’m not saying our play deserved that but Cody could have had three goals and we had a couple of opportunities to score.

“The players will now be more aware of the opposition. They were guessing before, now they know the strength of them and they have some good experienced players who are playing well.

“We know it will be a tough match [the replay]; I’m delighted to be in the hat.”
