Danny Kedwell says he is confident that Peter Taylor is the right man to guide the Gills forward.
The striker, who scored with 15 minutes to go against Preston to set up a nail biting conclusion, believes that when the team get going they will produce some solid results.
to the Lilywhites, he told the club website: “The football we did play at times was very good and when you give the gaffer time there will be better football, like today.2-1 defeatSpeaking after the
“It’s been three days and spells in today’s game shows what he has done in those three days with the passing and movement we had.
“When he gets going and we are a few weeks in to it we will be getting up there towards the play-offs.
“Once our goal went in we had a bit of confidence to nick something but they did get a bit lucky with their goals. The first was a deflection and then Greg’s tackle fell to Beavon, and that’s the sort of luck we need but we haven’t had that this season.
“Last year it was happening and people were defending our shots and it fell to one of us in the box and we scored. That’s not happening at the minute but it will do, we need to keep working – we’ll get our luck and it will start falling for us.
“We just need to keep working hard, get on the training pitch and play our Football.”
Kedwell said his goal may have come too late in the game to try and force the equalizer, but is now looking ahead to the game against Notts County on Tuesday night.
He added: “We were unlucky not to get an earlier goal because that would have lifted the crowd, and us a bit.

“Every game is going to be tough for us but we have training on Monday and then we have a game Tuesday so it’s better to have a game quickly rather than worry about it all week.
“We’ve lost today but we have strong characters in the dressing room who will push us through and we’ll get a result on Tuesday hopefully.
“We will come up against better teams so it will be difficult but we are a good enough team to step up.”
