Gills new Interim Manager addresses the media
Gills new Interim Manager Peter Taylor says he is looking forward to the challenge of managing the club for a second time.

Talking to the media during his first press conference he said:
“I can’t believe it’s been 13 years since I was Manager here; I had a very good year with good memories and I’m looking forward to this little challenge.

“Sometimes Managers change and players have to get on with it because they play for Gillingham and they have done it superbly today.
“Hopefully I will just encourage the players to play some good Football; hopefully they will see an organised team that is trying to win matches and a team that is going to work hard for the cause, and looking at the squad of players they give me the impression that’s what they are about.”
Peter was asked when he was approached by the Chairman and whether he would like the job on a permanent basis.
He said: “I would love it, I would absolutely love it but it’s a bit of a different situation where you’ve got to win some matches. I think the Gillingham fans and everybody want to see some improvement.
“I was always hopeful there would be a chance, but hopeful maybe it could be long term and permanent, but at the minute its interim and I’ve said to the staff and the players today I can understand 100% why the Chairman is going that route.
“He wants to make sure he makes the right decision.”
