The Gills made a perfect start to the season, recording a superb 3-1 opening day victory over a battling Bradford City side, in glorious sunshine MEMS Priestfield Stadium. The Gills led through a Danny Kedwell brace, including one from the spot, before Phil Parkinson’s had pulled one back and threatened to level on a couple of other occasions. Fortunately debutant Myles Weston popped up late on to secure the points and deliver a win on Martin Allen’s first league game in charge of the Gills.

GILLINGHAM 2-0 BRADFORD CITY - MARCH 2011
Goals from Adebayo Akinfenwa and Curtis Weston, in a five minute spell either side of the break, ensured that the Gills took the three points against a battling Bradford, keen to impress new temporary boss Peter Jackson. The victory, which extended Gills unbeaten run to nine games, was our first win since beating Rotherham United, in early February, following four consecutive draws.

BRADFORD CITY 2-2 GILLINGHAM - OCTOBER 2008
After finding themselves 2-0 down at half time, Mark Stimson’s Gillingham pulled off an incredible U-turn to rescue a point at Valley Parade, despite having midfielder Mark Bentley sent off early in the second half. The Bantams seemed to be cruising to a comfortable victory thanks to first half goals from Peter Thorne and Joe Colbeck, but a second half brace from Simeon Jackson earned the Gills an unlikely point.
