A club statement on the Mark McCammon tribunal hearing
The Club is frustrated with the outcome of today’s appeal hearing into the Mark McCammon employment tribunal judgement. We accept that the case was lost due to the technical wording of the dismissal letter, which was drafted for the Club by legal hand, and should have been worded more clearly.
The club stands by its assertion, as supported by both hearings, that Mark McCammon was dismissed for the right reasons, following his aggressive conduct and behaviour in the Manager’s Office, on the morning of November 30th 2010.
Gillingham Football Club has always been an equal opportunities employer and does not tolerate racism or discrimination of any kind.
