MARTIN: "KEEPING CLEAN SHEET IS KEY"

Martin confident his team can take all three points from Broadfield Stadium

Martin Allen says there is an open mind to change things within the team, but insists everyone will always give their all to gain the desired result.

The Gills go in to tomorrow’s game at Crawley having drawn three successive league games in a row, but Martin believes his players can win every match if they perform to their potential.

He said: “I think we are going to win every game, I honestly do. Let’s prepare to win, play to win and I was always taught to do my best and that’s what we do.

“Over the years we have heard `we have played well but not won` and how many managers have said they want to play rubbish and get a lucky 1-0 win.

“To get those lucky wins you have to have a solid defence, you have to be hard to beat and you can get lucky 1-0 wins if your centre forwards can score a goal or score from a set play.

had three efforts at our goal in 47 minutes. One was a penalty and they had hardly been in to our 18-yard box.Leyton Orient“I would love a lucky 1-0 win –

“We were 2-0 down but they were built on solid defending and they were good on the counter attack as we saw.

“We’ve mixed it up a few times and changed bits and pieces; there is an open mind to change things. We have the personnel to be able to do it so that definitely needs to be considered.”

Martin was asked if the style of play may need to revert to some of the displays shown last season.

He said: “It wasn’t just the back four, that defensive record we had and the away record we had was a team effort with everybody doing their job within a structure and an organisation that was going to be difficult to break through.

“As we all know keeping that clean sheet is the key and all of our front players do their stint.

“On Saturday at three o’clock we will be ready to go.”
