Bradley Dack came off the bench to score the opener on 78 minutes, before Cody McDonald put the result beyond doubt with a last minute goal courtesy of a great solo effort.

Speaking after the game Peter said: “We needed a win, a very important win and a much better performance that last Saturday, so I’m very happy with the day because we started well but we just couldn’t score.

“That’s the only thing that worried me at half time, because we had a few decent chances that we should of put away, so the longer the game goes on sometimes you get a bit anxious.

“The players worked extremely hard, we all said before the game that the Orient match was a disaster and that we needed to bounce back and I think the players did.

“I think that was very important - I actually said to the players before the game we were six minutes away from beating Rotherham and Rotherham are a very good team.

"We played Peterborough and I think we actually had the better chances than them before they scored. It was only Orient where we let ourselves down.

“I’m delighted with the outcome and the performance and work rate was absolutely fine.”
