GILLS SET TO FACE EBBSFLEET IN FINAL PRE-SEASON FIXTURE

Gillingham FC to take on Ebbsfleet in the club's final pre-season friendly

Gillingham FC are preparing for their final match of pre-season when they take on Ebbsfleet United at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.

Peter Taylor has been pleased overall with the way his players have applied themselves so far, and this will be his last chance to see the squad in action before the league season kicks off.

Gills travel to MK Dons on Saturday August 9 for the first game of the new Sky Bet League One campaign.

However Matt Fish and Josh Pritchard will both be missing due to respective injuries - Fish should train again early next week while Pritchard started working with the first team on Thursday.

Gary Borrowdale is likely to get at least 45 minutes under his belt, but Josh Stanford and Liam Marrs will miss out after Peter Taylor decided not to offer them full time contracts.

This will allow another trialist to impress at right back, with Josh Hare also available.

Peter Taylor said: "I think there will be two lots of 45 so hopefully we are all fresh for Monday and can have a full week with no other games.

"I don't think there will be any surprises, it's a case of players not wanting to get injuries.

"Hopefully we get a good result but it doesn't matter, the most important thing is getting the fitness and getting something out of the game."

Kick-Off is at 3pm - we will be providing live text commentary on the Wall.
