Gillingham FC U18 squad in action at Beechings Cross on Saturday against Barnet
The Gills first team may be in action for the first time this weekend at MK Dons, but for the U18 squad the season is already well underway.Steve Lovell's men are in action against Barnet at Beechings Cross on Saturday (11am kick-off), looking to build on a positive performance in a 1-1 draw at Southend last weekend.
A goal from Ryan Crandley was enough to earn a point in a strong display, and we'll keep you updated how the youngsters get on game by game.
Speaking recently Lovell said: "I love coaching and I love managing the boys - I only had the last bunch for a few months but that's part of being a Manager.
"They are a new bunch coming in, the main thing is that we all pull together and I'm looking for them in two years time to be in the Manager's team - if they work hard in the next two years there is a chance that will happen.
"Mitchell Dickenson will Captain the side - it's a young squad with ten first years coming into the club so it's an exciting time."
