Peter Taylor looks to the positives following the 4-2 defeat to MK Dons on Saturday afternoon
Peter Taylor said there were definitely positives to take from the season opener against MK Dons, despite losing the match 4-2.Cody McDonald and Danny Kedwell put the visitors two goals up, but following an own goal by Kortney Hause just before the break the hosts picked up the pace and scored three times in the second period to clinch victory.
Taylor was disappointed with the goals his team conceded but was enthused by the first half performance.
Speaking after the game he said: “There were some good things, some bad things and some unlucky things.
"Some of the things we did in the first half were very good – we showed some good pace and quality at times.
“We got a couple of goals, one was an easy through ball and the other was a ball that Danny Kedwell flicked on ever so well for Cody.
“Some of the goals [conceded] were very, very poor defensively and the one just before half time killed us a little bit and that gave MK Dons some momentum.
“That knocked us back a bit but I still felt at half time that we could go on to get a third goal because I thought we were counter attacking them very well but unfortunately we let in two goals from crosses, and then one from a corner.
“I felt as though we could have passed the ball around more, and better.”
