CHARLIE ALLEN LEAVES GILLINGHAM

Midfielder Charlie Allen’s contract has been cancelled by mutual consent

Gillingham Football Club would like to pass on our thanks to midfielder Charlie Allen whose contract with the Club was terminated today by mutual consent. Charlie has spent 18 months with the club, after signing in July 2012, and we wish him every success in his future life.

Signed from Notts County prior to the start of the 2012/13 campaign, tenacious midfielder Charlie made 36 appearances for Gillingham that season, scoring twice as the club secured our first League title for 50 years.

The 21 year-old made a further six league and cup appearances for the Gills this season and also spent time on loan with Skrill Premier side Tamworth.

Peter Taylor wished Charlie the best for his future and thanked him for being such a dedicated professional.

He told the club’s website: “He’s been absolute first class and he hasn’t been one problem to me and if any football clubs out there want to phone me or decide to phone me about him it will only be positive things.”
