Gillingham’s Sky Bet League 1 match away at Peterborough United has been postponed after The Posh reached the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final last night by beating Swindon Town in the Southern Area Final.Our trip to London Road had been scheduled for Saturday 29 March but with the Wembley Final set to take place on Sunday 30 March, our League fixture will have to be rearranged.
A 75th minute Britt Assombalonga goal earned The Posh a 1-1 draw in their Area Final second-leg at the County Ground last night, leaving the tie balanced at 3-3 on aggregate over the two legs.
A penalty shoot-out was required to separate the sides with Tommy Rowe slotting home the winner to earn Peterborough a 3-4 win on penalties.
