RYAN INNISS JOINS GILLINGHAM

Gills sign Crystal Palace and England Youth international defender

Gillingham may be without a fixture this weekend but that hasn’t stopped manager Peter Taylor adding to his squad as he prepares for the rearranged visit of Sheffield United on Wednesday 19 February.

The Gills boss today secured the signing of Crystal Palace and England Youth international centre-half Ryan Inniss, who arrives on a loan deal that will keep him at MEMS Priestfield Stadium for the remainder of the 2013/14 campaign.

18 year-old Ryan joined the Eagles Academy at the age of 14 and captained the club’s youth team throughout the 2012/13 season. He began this campaign with a loan spell at League Two side Cheltenham Town and was an unused sub in Palace’s 3-1 loss at Liverpool in October.

He recently returned from a one month loan stay with Conference high-flyers Luton Town, for whom he scored on his debut in a 2-2 FA Trophy draw with Cambridge United.

Ryan will be eligible to make his Gills debut in next Wednesday’s Sky Bet League 1 clash with Sheffield United at MEMS Priestfield Stadium
