FREE GIRLS OPEN DAY

Gills teaming up with Kent FA and FA Skills to offer Girls only open day

This February we are very excited to be teaming up with The Kent FA and The FA Skills to deliver a FREE Open Day for Girls in the local area.

The day will take place at our first team training ground on Wednesday 19th February and run from 10:30am to 1:30pm and is open to girls aged five to 11 years of age. The day will focus on fun football skills and drills with small-sided games throughout.

Team Leader for The FA Skills team Pete Sayer said: “We are excited to be working in conjunction with Gillingham FC Community Sports and Education Foundation and The Kent FA to deliver a great opportunity for young female players to get involved in the game.

“Whether it is your first step into football or you have been playing for a while we aim to give players the opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends and play plenty of football in a fun, relaxed environment.”

Pete added: “Due to the way we are funded, by Tesco, we are able to offer this opportunity for free and so are keen to see a strong turn-out for the event.

“We have been working hard to raise the profile of girls football in the county and have recently developed a working group to help increase participation levels as well as the retention of players.

"It is also designed to develop ideas and opportunities for more young female players to experience the game at different levels.

“Whilst offering fun, dynamic and challenging coaching sessions we will also be able to offer advice to players who may be looking for a team to join.”

So why not come along and join us, to book your place just complete and return the registration form to the Community Trust here at Priestfield Stadium.
