Gillingham FC wishes local school well in the Area Finals of the Girls Cup
Good luck to the team from St Simon Stock Catholic School who are taking part in the Area Finals of The Football League Girls Cup on Thursday.The Area Finals are being hosted by Southend FC and the girls, who are representing the Gills, will face local tournament winners representing AFC Wimbledon, Charlton, Dagenham & Redbridge, Leyton Orient, Millwall, Queens Park Rangers and Southend.
In preparation for the Area Finals the team received a coaching session with our Community Trust Coaches Jack Knighton and Henry Willard.
The team were invited to our First Team Training Ground and on arrival were able to watch the Development Squad and Youth Team Train before starting their own session.
During the session the girls worked on individual ball control, their range of passing and communication as a team, they then worked on formations in some small-sided games.
The girls were then invited back to MEMS Priestfield Stadium where they were given a tour of the ground before meeting up with Assistant Manager John Schofield in the dugouts for a Q&A.
