WRITE TO UNITE

Don’t miss your chance to take part in Kick It Out’s new competition

Kick It Out is launching a free national competition, entitled ‘Write to Unite’, in conjunction with Arvon, the creative writing company.

The organisation attended the National Football Museum in Manchester late last year hosting a special commemorative exhibition to display archived material, telling the story of football's first anti-discrimination body after its inaugural 'Season of Action' got underway in August to mark 20 years of campaigning.

Former Juventus and Stoke City striker Vincent Pericard, Chair of Kick It Out’s Professional Player Guidance Group, joined the campaign at the Museum to talk to members of the public about the challenges which have been overcome since its inception, and those which still face it moving forward.

‘Write to Unite’ competition

The ‘Write to Unite’ competition officially opened on Friday November 1 and will look for young people, aged 7-18, from across England to creatively display how football can unite people regardless of their background.

Entries can include: a poem, story, song, chant or match report, player interview or a feature to appear in a match programme or website feature.

The competition has three age categories, 7-10, 11-14 and 15-18, with 31 January 2014 at 5pm the deadline for submission.

The winners of the categories could be in with a chance to win prizes including an England shirt, match tickets, books and signed merchandise.
