DICKENSON: THE KEY IS TO GET US PLAYING AS A TEAM

Brennan Dickenson eager for squad to gel ahead of opening league fixture

Brennan Dickenson believes the most important part of pre-season is for the new players to gel and get to know each other on the pitch.

Dickenson has found the net three times in the six games he has played but says results, although important, aren’t necessarily what everyone is looking for at this stage.

Speaking at the club’s annual Golf Day he said: “We are working hard; most of the boys have played 90 minutes now so that’s a massive boost fitness wise.

“We want to win obviously but we want to get to a level which is acceptable to the Manager – results in pre-season always vary but it doesn’t matter too much as we have a number of new lads that have come in and the key is to get us playing as a team before MK Dons.

“We are trying to play and get to know each other on the pitch.”

As for his own condition, Brennan believes he is nearly ready for the new season.

He added: “I think I’m almost there, I played 75 minutes on Tuesday but felt I could have played the full game. I felt fine, I feel I can improve but there is always room for that.”
