Antonio German says he is hoping to force his way into first team contention for the opening league game against MK Dons on August 9.
The striker has netted four times in as many games, including two in Tuesday’s 6-1 win at Faversham and he puts this goal scoring form down to a new attitude.
He said: “I text the gaffer in the summer to ask him, not necessarily if I was going to play, but if I was in his plans.
“He said come back and show me what you can do and I’ve returned for pre-season with a different attitude and that’s five goals in four matches now I think.
“Strikers work off form and I just hope I can get into that starting line-up for the opening game of the season at MK Dons - we all want to play and everyone is working really hard in training to grab the shirt.”
