GILLS BACK IN ACTION AGAINST FOLKESTONE TONIGHT

Gillingham FC back in action Friday evening as the club travels to Folkestone Invicta for testimonial fixture

Gillingham get their 2014/15 pre-season campaign underway this evening when they take on Folkestone Invicta for Liam Friend's Testimonial match.

Friend, 26, has already played 396 games for Neil Cugley's side since graduating from the youth setup in 2005, and has recently agreed to stay at the club for another year.

This will be the first time that supporters can see Peter Taylor's new look Gills team in action, with no less than eight new signings all available to play with the possible exception of Josh Pritchard who has picked up an injury during the past week.

However Jermaine McGlashan, Doug Loft, Aaron Morris, Glenn Morris, Brennan Dickenson, John Egan and Luke Norris are all expected to feature at some stage.

Taylor is taking a strong side to Cheriton Road following the club's training camp in Colchester, and he will be hoping to start in the best possible way with the players eager to impress ahead of the new league campaign.

Kick-Off is at 7.30pm.
