Team News:

Peter Taylor could be without Kortney Hause (knee), Callum Davies (knock) and Joe Martin (back) for the visit of Preston. Davies looks almost certain to miss out while Hause and Martin will be assessed at the last minute.

Danny Kedwell was an unused substitute at the weekend but is pushing for a starting place. Doug Loft (suspension) and Aaron Morris (hamstring) remain unavailable.

As for Preston, Bailey Wright missed their match on Saturday due to a groin problem and faces a late fitness check. Kyel Reid is in line to make his second successive start after returning from injury.

Kevin Davies is back following a broken rib, while Calum Woods and Andy Little remain sidelined.

Manager Comments:

Gills boss Peter Taylor was happy following the weekend’s match with Rochdale, clinching a point late on thanks to a Cody McDonald strike.

However he is eager for his players to stop putting themselves under pressure, and believes better decision making will come from experience.

He said: “We make wrong decisions and put ourselves under pressure and that’s why at times we are on the back foot – that’s just about learning the game.”

Simon Grayson said: “We know what Gillingham are about, they have a very experienced manager and it is never an easy place to go to. We have to be very focused; which we have been over the past few weeks.

“We have worked really hard on the training pitches in certain areas and we go there in good spirits.”

Betting:

Preston are favourites to win the match, Sky Bet pricing them at 3/4 to clinch victory. Gillingham are 7/2 to get all three points while a draw has odds of 11/4.
