GILLS SIGN MIDFIELDER MICHAEL DOUGHTY ON LOAN

Gillingham FC have added to their squad with the loan signing of Michael Doughty from Premiership side Queens Park Rangers

Gillingham have bolstered their midfield options with the signing of QPR midfielder Michael Doughty on a one month emergency loan deal.

The Wales U21 International joined up with the rest of the squad for training on Friday morning and is eligible to play in Saturday's home league fixture against Crawley Town on Saturday.

Doughty came through the youth system at Loftus Road and made his debut for the Hoops in an FA Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers in January 2011, coming on as an 88th minute substitute in place of Rob Hulse.

However he has enjoyed plenty of First team Football elsewhere with this being his sixth loan spell away from the Premier League side, having previously enjoyed spells at Woking, Crawley, Aldershot and St. Johnstone.

His most extended spell was at Stevenage last season where he made 43 appearances and scored twice, one of which against tomorrow's opponents Crawley this time last year.

Michael will wear squad number 21, his deal will run to November 22 meaning he will be able to feature in the away game at Bradford.

A full interview with Michael and Manager Peter Taylor will be on the website later today.
