Halling Primary School are the latest team to advance to the quarter finals of our half time shootout competition
It was an exciting interval at the Gills v Scunthorpe match on Saturday as we witnessed Halling Primary School clinch victory over Twydall Primary School in our Half-Time Shoot-Out competition.The players had seven seconds to score from the edge of the D and could choose to dribble and shoot or simply fire one at goal. The keepers were allowed to move off their line as soon as the whistle sounded and put the striker under pressure meaning that they both had to think and act fast.
The two teams were showing their nerves before the match with a few heard saying, ‘’There’s so many people watching.” It was a great effort from both schools on the pitch, however Halling held their nerve in front of a noisy Rainham End, converting one more goal than their opponents Tywdall which was enough to secure their place in the Quarter-Finals.
Congratulations to Halling who are through to the last eight, where they will face Featherby Junior School when the Gills take on MK Dons on February 14th 2015.
Our next contest will see Barnsole Primary take on St Margarets at Troy Town in our third half time shoot-out competition fixture when the Gills face Crawley Town on Saturday 25th of October.
