Bristol City continue to set the early pace in Sky Bet League 1 and are 13/10 favourites with the Football League sponsor to maintain their unbeaten record at Walsall on Saturday.

Steve Cotterill's charges have won three and drawn two on the road so far to help them establish a five-point lead at the top, being cut from 8/1 on the eve of the season to a current price of 2/1 to be crowned champions.

The Saddlers, meanwhile, have lost just one of their five games at the Bescot Stadium and are 21/10 to shock the leaders with the draw available at 23/10.

The division's other form side Swindon Town are unbeaten in their last seven and are 9/4 shots to pick up the three points at Leyton Orient. The O's have notched just one win so far at Brisbane Road and last season's beaten play-off finalists are 5/4 favourites to get their season back on track with a victory.

Sheffield United have started to produce the results to back up their status as pre-season title favourites and will hope to keep their foot on the gas in the derby with Chesterfield.

The Blades are a 19/10 chance with Sky Bet for the three points but the Spireites have taken well to life at the higher level and are 7/5 favourites with the draw on offer at 9/4.

Second-placed Peterborough United got back-on-track with a 1-0 victory last weekend following a three-match winless run, and they’re odds-on at 10/11 to see off Oldham Athletic, who are 3/1 for a victory which could see them climb into the play-off positions.

Preston North End and Bradford City are the other two odds-on favourites to win this weekend as they welcome Colchester United (11/2) and Crewe Alexandra (4/1) respectively, with the latter looking to end a wretched run of three heavy defeats.

Coventry City and Fleetwood Town are both even-money chances for victories as they host Crawley Town (14/5) and Port Vale (14/5) respectively, although both visiting sides might fancy their chances of an upset with their hosts on winless runs.

Of those on the road, MK Dons are the only side other than Bristol City to be favourites to collect all three points.

The Dons have scored two of more goals in five of their last six games and are 6/5 to add to that trend, with Yeovil Town 17/10 outsiders for the win despite beating high-flying Peterborough in their last home game.

Meanwhile, Notts County are 23/20 to see off Gillingham (12/5) and Rochdale are 21/20 favourites against Barnsley (5/2), while Scunthorpe United v Doncaster Rovers is considered too tough to call with both sides 13/8 for the win.

Sky Bet’s top tips:

MK Dons to score 2+ goals at Yeovil – 6/5
The Dons have managed it in five of six of their last six games.

Michael Higdon and Eoin Doyle both to score in Sheffield United v Colchester - 6/1
Higdon has netted in his last two in all competitions, while Doyle is the top scorer in the Football League.

Under 1.5 goals in Coventry v Crawley – 9/4
The Sky Blues and the Red Devils have only managed 16 goals between them so far this season, with both failing to score in two of their last three games.
