Peter Taylor pleased to have secured the services of midfielder Michael Doughty on a one month loan deal from Premiership side Queens Park Rangers
Peter Taylor says he’s pleased to have secured the signature of Michael Doughty on a one month loan deal from QPR.
The 21-year-old signed on Friday morning and was immediately placed in the starting XI for the visit of Crawley in a game that finished 1-1, and he nearly scored at the end of the first half after a surging run saw an effort blocked from inside the box.
On gaining his signature Peter said: “He’s a good footballer, he had good experience last year at Stevenage on loan from QPR and that would have done him good having got 40 games under his belt.
“League One at that time was good for him – he has a good left foot, he’s a knowledgeable player I think and he’ll help us to play some Football.
“We’ve started it off with a month, Michael can see if he likes us and whether we like him. He has experience, he knows the game and I’m really pleased he’s come on board.
“I thought he did well Saturday, he showed he can see a pass – unfortunately he got cramp which was the reason he had to came off.
“He’s a young boy looking to push on and is a very serious professional who wants to do well. He would see it as a great opportunity to play some Football.”
