FEATHERBY CLINCH VICTORY IN OPENING HALF TIME SHOOT OUT FIXTURE

Reigning Champions Featherby Junior School begin their half time shoot out defence with victory against St. Margaret's CE Primary School during Gills fixture with Walsall

On Saturday we witnessed the opening fixture of the 2014/15 half time shoot-out competition which saw Featherby Junior School take on St Margaret’s CE Primary School.

The players had seven seconds to score from the edge of the D and could choose to dribble and shoot or simply fire one at goal.

The keepers were allowed to move off their line as soon as the whistle sounded and put the striker under pressure meaning that they both had to think and act fast.

The two teams were nervous yet quietly confident in the build up to half time, with St Margaret’s eager to beat last year’s Champions Featherby Juniors.

Featherby, aiming to retain the Half-time Shoot-Out title, started well with an exquisite range of finishing. St Margaret’s reacted well and were unlucky not to score more with some fantastic attempts on goal and some excellent goalkeeping from the Featherby goalkeeper.

Congratulations to Featherby who are through to the first of our Quarter-Finals which takes place when the Gills face Milton Keynes Dons in February.

Our next contest will see Twydall Primary School take on Halling Primary School in our second half time shoot-out competition fixture when the Gills face Scunthorpe United on Saturday 11th of October.
