Gillingham goalkeeper Stuart Nelson has returned to first team training following a thumb injury
Peter Taylor has revealed that goalkeeper Stuart Nelson has begun training with the first team again.Nelson damaged ligaments in his thumb during the opening day 4-2 defeat at MK Dons, but the Manager has hinted that he could be considered for selection within the next 14 days.
Speaking to the media on Monday he said: "He is training with us now and doing well.
“He is pushing on, which is good and he will be delighted to be back out there.
"He had been training using a softball and with protection around the hand but he is now grabbing the normal football and looking alright.
“He is not ready for first team football yet but I don’t think that is going to be far away. I would say a couple of weeks max.”
