The club are proud to support an initiative aimed at promoting inclusion in sport
Gillingham FC is proud to support the Level Playing Field (LPF) Weeks of Action 2015. The initiative is aimed at promoting awareness of access and inclusion at sports venues and to improve the fan experience for all disabled supporters. This year’s event runs from Saturday 18th April to Sunday 3rd May.
Did you know that there are estimated to be 12 million disabled people in the UK? As a club we believe that football has the power to send a strong message that there is no place for disability discrimination in our sport.
The Level Playing Field Weeks of Action gives us the opportunity to celebrate our disabled fans, showcase the work we are doing to make our sport more inclusive and ensuring disability is not a barrier to enjoying football.
Level Playing Field is a charity with a remit for England and Wales. They are a campaigning and advisory organisation working on behalf of all disabled supporters to raise awareness, share good practice and promote ‘good access for all fans’.
LPF works with sports governing bodies, Clubs and Leagues across all sports to improve access and inclusion for disabled people and believes sport can lead the way in ensuring equality for all in wider society.
