MAHLON ROMEO LEAVES GILLINGHAM FC

Mahlon Romeo has left Priestfield Stadium with immediate effect

Mahlon Romeo has left Gillingham FC after the player, along with the club, agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent.

The right back made one first team appearance during his time at MEMS Priestfield Stadium, that coming on the final day of the 2012/13 season in the 3-2 defeat to Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium.

Mahlon had been an ever present in the club's development side, featuring in Premier League U21 Cup ties and Kent Senior Cup matches.

However in the past few weeks he, along with a number of other players, were told their contracts would not be renewed at the end of the season and the defender has decided to leave the club as he looks for a new team ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.
