Dean Jordan was given a match to remember when he was selected at random to present Rory Donnelly with his October Goal of the Month award.
Rory’s strike against Crewe Alexandra sealed victory, making it two consecutive wins in a row for the Gills striker.
And Gillingham FC Season Ticket Holder Dean was more than happy to deliver the award to his favourite player.
“It was a lovely Christmas surprise to get the phone call from the club asking me to present the award. I think Rory is a wonderful player and done really well since he joined us in the summer. The goal against Crewe was another spectacular goal and it won us the game, so it is even more special.”
Dean has been a Season Ticket Holder for many years and his blood runs blue.
“I never miss a Gills game and love supporting the boys in the Rainham End. I was really nervous to meet Rory but he is a brilliant guy as well as a great player.”
“I absolutely loved the experience; it was very special being allowed onto the pitch. I came to the match straight from my night shift and I’ll be dreaming about today when I get back to bed!”
Following the presentation, November’s Goal of the Month winner was revealed. Emmanuel Osadebe’s first professional goal selected as winner by hundreds of Gillingham fans who voted.
