Team News:

Joe Martin (ankle) is likely to miss his second successive game due to an injury picked up at Ashton Gate during the 1-1 draw with Bristol City in the JPT.

Aaron Morris and Amine Linganzi (hamstring) remain on the treatment table, but the Gills management staff have no fresh injury or suspension concerns.

As for Sheffield United, Matt Done and Jason Holt could make their debuts after signing from Rochdale and Hearts respectively.

John Brayford, Paul Coutts, Che Adams and Kieran Wallace are all available after being cup tied midweek.

The Blades have a couple of doubts with Ryan Flynn (Achilles) and Stefan Scougall (knee) battling to be fit.

Management Comments:

Mark Patterson told BBC Radio Kent: “They’re a big club at this level, they’ve got some excellent players and we know we need to work hard and do our own jobs properly.

“We will give them the respect they deserve as they are a top team.”

Nigel Clough told the Sheffield Star: “We could put ourselves right back in the mix if we have a good February - there are a lot of winnable games coming up and we need to build on our very good win over Swindon last weekend.”

Previous Meetings:

The two teams last met on September 27 when a magnificent strike from Luke Norris nearly gave Gillingham all three points at Bramall Lane.

However the visitors found the net twice in the last six minutes to take the win.

In total the two teams have only ever met on 23 occasions, of those Sheffield United have won nine games to Gillingham’s eight. The other six have resulted in a draw.
